BE BOLD

Chinese torture tactics? How about we add 'taking photos when you are uninspired and in a funk?'

Okay, that may be a bit dramatic and mildly inappropriate, but about a month ago, my dream job (which literally consists of taking photos and creating content) began feeling like torture!

I had been in Utah for a few months with no travel in queue and we were in the thick of “pre-spring” which meant brown trees, dirty snow, and nothing inspiring in sight. It was so easy to be creative and inspired when I was in Paris wandering the Louvre, but the inspiration came to a screeching halt back home and I didn’t know what to do! I began thinking of ways I could escape the rut I was trapped in and make my life exciting again. The only word that kept coming to mind when I was pondering was BOLD!

What does it mean to be bold?

To me, being bold means taking a risk and being unapologetically yourself, braking the mold, and making the choices that make you happy…regardless of how they make you look! Being bold does not just apply to your photo ops and Instagram, being bold can translate into your personal relationships, your jobs, your hobbies, and any aspect of your life that allows you to be “all in!”

It was time to be BOLD!

“People who choose to be bold are inspiring not just because they get big things accomplished, but because they also instigate growth, progress, and movement for themselves and others around them. Sadly, far more people wait for someone who is bold to lead the way, hoping somehow luck will shine success upon them.”

To do this, Bri Elise and I created #beboldwithbriandbritt. This is a weekly photo challenge that will allow you to inspire, be inspired, and add purpose/direction to your gram game!

Each week we will be introducing a new challenge, with a new set of guidelines. We ask that you join with us in these challenges to create a movement of BEING BOLD! Use your creative imagination, share your deep thoughts, and dive deep into what being bold creates for you! We will be doing shoutouts, giveaways, and prizes for the best photos, so be sure to give it all you’ve got!

Last week was color week. We challenged you to think outside of the box and create photos with one main color. This challenge was much more inspiring that I expected, here’s why:

  1. There is truly beauty everywhere! Sometimes I get caught wishing I lived in a more “photographic” location. I would envy those that lived near a beach or in a big city, strictly because “they must have the easiest time finding inspiration.” But the truth is, I live in one of the most beautiful states and I wasn’t looking around to appreciate it! Open your eyes, look at the small, seemingly insignificant places you pass. There is beauty and inspiration no matter where you live!

  2. If you aren’t pushing yourself in life, even if you are living the “perfect life” and have your dream job, you will be unfulfilled! Happiness is progress, not the destination! Never allow yourself to get too comfortable. Always aim higher and strive for better, you can do it!

“As long as you are headed in the right direction, your speed doesn’t matter.”

The Be Bold Photo Challenge is designed to push you outside of your comfort zone and give you a creative push! We want to see your amazing work so be sure to tag #beboldwithbriandbritt in your photos and pair it with the weekly challenge hashtag which will be released each Sunday!

This week’s challenge is…. TWIN WEEK! #boldtwins

Grab your bestie, or your mom, or your dog…get a matching outfit and show us what you’ve got! No matter what you do this week, be sure it’s BOLD! Can’t wait to see your posts and be inspired by your vision!

Check back next week for the new challenge!

Xoxo,

Britt
